The past 21 days have been wonderful. The class has learned so much about chicks, but they've also become so interested in our cute little chicks. The three that hatched were named Darth Vader, Sunny, and Charlie Brown.
Here is one of my favorite photos from this unit. They are adorable!
This year we will document our learning in first grade through this blog. Student work and activities will be on display.

First crack!
One of the other 1st grade teachers, Mrs. Rivera, went to school to check on the eggs. She found this little crack on one of our 6 eggs. I'm SO excited! I can't wait to see the little chick when we return back to school on Monday!!!

Awareness Fair
Our school had our first awareness fair and the kids LOVED it! They were able to see how other students might struggle while at school. The kids were so compassionate and understanding.

Science: Hatching Chicks
For our next Science unit we will be learning about chicks. We have 6 eggs in an incubator within our classroom. Each day we will complete a journal entry to document what is happening to the baby chicks as they grow and develop. This process should take about 21 days. Crossing our fingers that our eggs hatch!
