THANK YOU!!! Grant Items Received

Wow, we are SOOOOOOO excited to have been blessed with so many wonderful and supportive people in our lives. I wrote my first grant through Donor's Choose and it was fully funded by several families. Today we received our complete shipment of items. We are VERY eager to open them up and start playing! Thank you to all of the donors who have helped supply our classroom with wonderful literacy games to make learning so much fun!

Snow

We actually had some snow flurries fall today. Not much stuck, but it did snow here. The kids were soooo excited since this is not something that occurs very often. We bundled up and headed outside for a few minutes. They had a great time and were ready to get back inside the classroom to warm up. We snapped a class picture.

Flat Stanley

We have been discussing stories that are fantasy this week. We read the book Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown. In the story, a boy is flattened when a bulletin board falls on him one night while he was sleeping. He gets to go on adventures when he is mailed to his friend who lives in California.

Our class created their own flat first grader and are sending them in the mail to someone.
They each wrote a letter and placed them into an envelope and off they went to the mail.  They are VERY excited to see the adventures  their flat first grader goes on!

Here they are with their flat first grader and their letter.
